The 10th Annual Juried Exhibition
NEW ENGLAND COLLECTIVE X
ABOUT: 2019 marks the TENTH year of the New England Collective juried exhibition, featuring new and exciting work by emerging and established artists.
JUROR: Over the course of her professional career Katherine French directed exhibition programs at Boston University, Montserrat College of Art, and Danforth Art. She has also taught museum studies and arts administration at Framingham State College and Boston University, respectively. After retiring as executive director of Danforth Art in 2015, she moved to northern Vermont where she now serves as part time gallery director at Catamount Arts, northern New England’s fastest growing cultural center. She enjoys working as a freelance curator museums including the New Britain Museum of American Art and the Ogunquit Museum of Art, and has been recipient of numerous awards, including one for curatorial excellence from the New England chapter of the International Association of Art Critics and named Best Curator of Locally Made Art at the Boston Art Awards.
EXHIBITION DATES: Wednesday, July 31 – Sunday, September 1, 2019
RECEPTION: Reception will take place on Friday, August 2, from 6-8 pm. All applicants for the New England Collective X will be invited to meet other artists, art lovers, curators, and collectors.
ELIGIBILITY: Artists may submit up to five works created within the last five years. Work in all media are encouraged.
APPLICATION PROCESS: Galatea Fine Art will accept online submissions only for its New England Collective X exhibition. Visit https://catamountarts.slideroom.com to upload image, video, and audio submissions and complete the application process. We regret that we cannot accept submissions by any other method.
FEES:
Please note: The New England Collective X is a competitive, juried exhibition. Submission does not guarantee participation in the show. Membership and submission fees are non-refundable, even if work is not selected.
SUBMISSION PERIOD: Submissions will be accepted until midnight on June 22, 2019. No late submissions will be accepted.
SELECTED WORK: Artists will be notified of selected work on June 29 by 5pm. Please do not call Galatea Fine Art regarding your submission. Shipped work must be received by Friday, July 26 in reusable wrapping with check or prepaid label for return shipping. In-person drop-off will be held daily from Friday, July 26 to Sunday, July 28, 12-5 pm on each day. Work must remain on exhibit until 5 pm on Sunday, September 1, with pick-up from 5 – 7 pm. Work may also be picked up on Monday, September 2, 10:30 am – 2 pm, and Tuesday, September 3, 11 am – 1 pm.
SALES: Work for sale must be priced by the artist, with a 30% commission to Galatea Fine Art. After the close of the exhibition, artists receive checks for 70% of sale price on work sold.
If work is not for sale (NFS), value must be stated for insurance purposes. Value of NFS works will not be made public. If sale price is not provided, it will be assumed work is not for sale (NFS).
